Here is a playlist of the music that's been inspiring me lately.

I have been a fan of Portishead for years but just came to know about that song by Beth Gibbons. Strangely enough, I realise as I post it on the blog how meaningful it is to me...

Someone wrote that it sounds a lot like CocoRosie. As a coincidence, CocoRosie is another band I've been listening to lately. I particularly enjoyed watching them live on Arte live Web. It's amazing how true to themselves they are. And Sierra's voice is just spellbinding.

Inspiring and soothing

I'm having a break from black and white for I am currently working on commission.
I shall be back soon with new things to show you.
Meanwhile, I have been listening to Olafur Arnalds, icelandic musician. I particularly enjoyed watching this video from KEXP. I hope you'll like it too.

Here is a little mix tape of the music that's been inspiring me so far (just click on the titles to listen).

Music always played a big part in my life, it still does though in a different way and it's always had a special place in my painting.
Not only does it testify to my own feelings but it also helps me deal with the emotional part in me and acts as a catalyst of my creativity. Sometimes, even the lyrics help and I can use them as a graphic element in my pictures, having to do both with the meaning and with the visual quality of the writing.
